MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle (MTXFS)

The MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle is a critical component of the MAXTRAX Recovery System, designed to act as the weakest link and point of failure in the event of system overload. This ensures the safety of your recovery process. The shackle has been specifically engineered and tested to work exclusively with MAXTRAX products, including the MAXTRAX Winch Ring 120, Kinetic Ropes, and Static Ropes. Always use the MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle during any vehicle recovery.

Before using the MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle, ensure all recovery participants read and understand the following steps:

1. Inspect the shackle for damage or wear before use.
2. Prepare the shackle by loosening the loop and sliding it over the knot.
3. Feed the loop through the rated recovery point or MAXTRAX component, and then tighten by pulling both sides.
4. Use the MAXTRAX Recovery Dampener over the rope for added safety during recovery.
5. Clear the recovery area of bystanders and gently commence the recovery process.

Care & Maintenance: Regularly inspect the shackle and other MAXTRAX Recovery System components for wear and tear, including nicks, cuts, burns, and abrasions. If any damage is found, discontinue use. After each recovery, rinse with clean water, air dry, and store in a protective kit bag to extend the life of your components.

Safety Recommendations: Ensure the minimum breaking strength of the strap is 2-3 times the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of the lighter vehicle involved in the recovery. Avoid lifting or conventional towing with the strap. Use a recovery damper to minimize the risk of unintentional rebound during use.
