Fluke FEV100/TY1 OffersMonitor the nominal voltage of the station voltage by connecting this adapter and selecting either state C or D using the rotary switch to start the charging cycle. There is no need to bring an electric vehicle onsite for EVSE troubleshooting: the adapter acts as an electric vehicle when connected to an EVSE for effortless performance and maintenance testing.

Features

PE pre-test to test dangerous V in the earth
CP control pilot for vehicle simulation
PE and CP error notification
GFCI testing
Connectivity with other T & M tools
Voltage, waveform, loop impedance and resistance

Test the functionality and safety of electrical vehicle charging stations, easily and reliably
Test the safety and performance of type 1, level 1 or level 2 electric vehicle ac charging stations (EVSEs) with this adapter. This test adapter simulates the presence of an electrical vehicle, allowing you to conduct tests in combination with appropriate test instruments such as a digital multimeter or oscilloscope. Use it to verify an EVSE is working properly after install and during periodic maintenance, or troubleshoot an EVSE if it is not delivering the appropriate charge.

Safety
EVSE charging cables may become damaged over the course of use, increasing electric shock risks to users. Stay protected from and check risk of electric shock with the GFCI trip test. This function verifies the breaker of the EVSE is connected by detecting ground
faults. Additionally, the PE grounding protection pre-test verifies that there is no presence of dangerous voltage at the ground terminal.

Simplicity and convenience
Perform a variety of tests including ground fault checks, insulation of wires, measuring voltage and duty cycle to see max current available for charging all with one adapter that safely integrates with the portfolio of test and measurement tools. There is no need to bring an electric vehicle onsite for EVSE troubleshooting: the adapter acts as an electric vehicle when connected to an EVSE for easy performance and maintenance testing.

Applications

Webinar: EVSE Safety Maintenance with Fluke

In recent years, more people are opting for greener solutions to minimize environmental damage, which has led to an increased demand for environmentally safe solutions such as electric vehicles. Naturally, this has led to an increase in the installation of EV charging stations, but also the risks for technicians. In 2020, there were 126 fatal and 2200 non-fatal electrical injuries. Many of these are caused when technicians are exposed to hazardous voltage and arc faults that could cause shock and fire hazards due to a lack of understanding of proper EVSE installation and maintenance. Considering that EVSEs have a high rate of failure, estimated at 30 to 50% (SAE), reliability is essential when building EV infrastructure and gaining user acceptance.

Webinar: Electrical Equipment Safety with Fluke

When safety is on top of mind, everyone benefits. Ensuring that your facility employs the best workplace practices, test tool standards, and ratings, and considers the dangers and causes of incidents will make for a safer work environment. Taking steps to improve these aspects will allow you to enjoy benefits, such as increased productivity and reduced assets-related and accident-related costs. Many tools can help you improve safety by testing, maintaining, monitoring, or troubleshooting live electrical equipment.
