Care & Maintenance
FEW BATTERIES DIE A NATURAL DEATH…MOST ARE MURDERED
Although batteries are sold with variety of published life spans, the fact is most batteries demonstrate a useful life of as little as three to five years. There are several factors that contribute to the shortened usefulness of a battery including; number of discharges, depth of discharges, environmental conditions and lack of regular maintenance.
Battery performance is critical to your power systems, and we offer preventive maintenance specifically designed to minimize the risk of system downtime and provide you with a peace of mind.
Preventive maintenance maximizes up-time and extends battery life by eliminating problems before they happen. Whether a battery fails from defect or deterioration, the best time to find out is during a preventive maintenance service, not
Solar Panel Maintenance
How to Maintain a Solar Panel
Two Methods:Solar Panel Cleaning Monitoring Performance
Solar panel maintenance is important because insufficient care for solar panels can reduce the amount of energy that these panels generate for your home. Since a solar panel system needs to absorb energy from the sun, the most vital component of solar panel care is to keep the panels clean. You can usually maintain a solar panel using the same equipment that you use to wash your residential and automobile windows, as long as you provide regular care and don’t allow dirt and other environmental elements from settling on the panels for too long.

Testing a Battery
TESTING A BATTERY
It’s important to test your battery and electrical system regularly, not just when it’s starting to show signs of weakness. Proactively testing it (or making sure your mechanic does) at least once a year will help reduce your chances of failure. Refer to your owner’s manual and your battery tester manual for instructions. Review all safety instructions that came with your tester and battery. Remember that batteries contain sulfuric acid that can cause severe burns and hydrogen-oxygen gases that can be explosive.
Fully charged automotive batteries should measure at 12.6 volts or above. When the engine is running, this measurement should be 13.7 to 14.7 volts. If you don’t have a multimeter to tell you the voltage of your battery, you can do a test of your electrical system by

HOW TO INSTALL A BATTERY
Read and follow the Safety and Handling information on this website.
Clean the tray where the battery rests. Use steel wool or a wire brush to rub the metal clamps and remove any corrosion.
Place your new battery in the battery tray (make sure your battery is
fully charged). Make sure it faces the proper direction so that the
positive and negative terminals line up with their corresponding cables.
Secure the hold-down strap in its original position over the new
battery, ensuring it is properly secure to prevent movement or vibration
wear. Do not tighten the hold-down bracket too hard, since this can
damage the plastic case and cover.
Attach both cables. Attach the positive (red) cable first, following with the negative (black) cable.
Hand-tighten the nuts. Do not over tighten the terminal
